machined finish symbols
is anyone familiar with machine finish symbols on prints from japanese companies? following the symbols are rz100
on another feature rz25, ry6.3 . i'm at a loss, i don't have the expertise for these. and thats why i'm here. this is the place for answers. thanks.

6.3 micrometers = 250 microinches
25 micrometers = 1000 microinches

just my 2 cents.
i hear every day it called surface finish. it's not a finish but a surface roughness. i see dwgs all the time with it called out on the finish note, should not be. not picking on anyone, just wanted to be clear. sorry.
