Editing measured cylinder's theoretical X value in summary mode gives application error.
<< Wade Burton -- 08/19/08 08:53:52>>
The automated test EditWindowVerifyDataSummaryMode is finding this problem, which I have verified manually.
Open the attached part program, go to summary mode, and find CYL1, a Measured Cylinder. Open the Theoretical folder for CYL1, and edit the Theoretical X value. Change it from -897.27 to 5, and tab off the field. Answer Yes to the questions to carry the value to the nominal, and Yes to update the hits, and Yes to update the commands with the new part alignment. PC-DMIS then gives an application error.

I would reproduce this problem using V431 last week. By the way I was in debug mode. PC-DMIS did crash when I changed the alignment manually.

Don Ruggieri also cannot duplicate this problem. This is the same issue as #256281 which has been fixed. Please see that pr for details.

I also tried to repeat this in older versions (v42MR1, v42MR2c, and v43b prior to 8/15) before I could verify te fix. Unfortunately, I cannot repeat this problem either, so I cannot actually verify a fix.

I cannot duplicate the crash. I believe this was fixed by the fix for #256281. I have asked Don Ruggieri to try this.

Hi Tim and Wade,
This problem is not related with the measured feature. In this part program, if we change the theo X value of cylinder(CYL1), it will cause alignment A2 to update since A2 use CYL1 to translate the origin. Once A2 changed, FCFLOC2 is updated subsequently. The problem occurs in the datum of this true postion command. Its internal alignment seems to be bad.
You could manually change alignment A2 by set origin from CYL2 to another feature, say CIR2, this will also cause crash. So the dimension programmer may take care of this.
