ansi what does "bsp" mean when
i'd appreciate if someone could answer this one. when discussing connection types, e.g. half-inch bsp female etc. what do the letters bsp mean? what does this connection look like?

we find in the hydraulics industry, that when someone refers to bsp thread, they usually mean bspp (british standard parallel) this is a parallel thread that seals with a flat washer.
the british standard also includes a tapered thread.
the machinery's handbook describes this.
