barrier design
hello,
i would like to know the approximate time frame for the detailed design of a cargo barrier.
the requirements would be
-stress analysis reports
-detail design drawings
-processes and procedures
-installation drawings
-definition of manufacturing process
thanks,
jay

jay,
you're not getting any replies here because your question is just too vague.
like wes noted, the scope of this work varies dramatically depending on the size of the barrier and the amount of weight it has to restrain.
does your airplane already have provisions for adding such a system, or do you need to modify airplane primary structure to react the loads? will there also be passengers in the airplane, or just crew? is the cargo that's being restrained loose or in containers?
a simple lightweight system mounted to seat tracks meant to hold back a few suitcases could likely be completed in a couple of months.
a full-blown restraint system robust enough to stop some fully-loaded containers at 9g including all testing and certification would probably be more like 2-3 years.
if you provide more information, you might get some responses from folks who have done this.
