fitting factor - application
if you have a torque tube (for example) that is attached to another fitting with 4 bolts. do you have to apply a fitting factor, even if it's considered a multiple joint system. shouldn't a ff only be applied to a single joint / bolt system.
jar does highlight that welded , continuous rivets sections etc to be excluded.
typically, if there is only one fitting, the ff applies. in your example, the joint with four bolts should be considered a fitting and the ff applies. in most cases you can ask yourself if the joint fails, is there any other means for load transfer? if the answer is no, then you should apply the ff.
