mimic physical properties of avaiation fuel
hi all,
i am after a liquid, preferably water-based that mimics the physical properties of aviation fuel. i do not want anything flammable or explosive, just something that will simulate its physical properties particularly when under pressure.
i am sure there must be some additive that you can add to water that will alter its properties to that of aviation fuel?
has anyone got any ideas?
many thanks is advance if you are able to suggest something. i will post in the chemical area also in case any chemists are familiar with this kind of application.
with best regards,

which physical properties are you most interested in duplicating - density, viscosity, thermal conductivity, etc.?
maybe try rustlick:
i talked to our test lab guy about what we used in our old fuel test stand. in the ancient past, we used mil-c-7024 calibration fluid. because it became unobtanium, we switched to low aromatic stoddard solvent, more commonly known as zippo lighter fluid or dry cleaning solvent. |
