analysis of tall building
i have analysing of tall building whose framing is typical rounded, a 3/4 circle, i find out that bigger moment force i get for beam. is it normal? do i need to place the shear wall on a right place, since walls are use only for elevators. can some teach me how to place my shearwalls in a right place so i could reduce the torsional effect of earthquake for my irregular type of framing?
check out our whitepaper library.
i would try to find the center of mass by statics. then set up the shearwalls so that the center of rigidiy lines up with your floor centroid (center of mass). depending on the code, you will still have some torsional component. i believe ibc requires a 5% accidental eccentricity. |
