another roof collapse
another one in russia. not good.
i believe i've read that the winter in russia and asia has been very cold and lots of snow compared to historical records, just the opposite of north america's winter this year. are these failures due to abnormal snow amounts or poor construction?
"the probable cause of the collapse was either the buildup of snow, design flaws or maintenance errors..." in other words, they don't know.
"the market was designed by nodar kancheli, the architect behind moscow's transvaal water park, where the roof collapsed in 2004, killing 28 people. prosecutors have blamed that collapse on design flaws." for what that statement is worth.
another tragic collapse. pray for those families and friends who have lost loved ones.
i heard that in russia, it is tradition that the engineer stand under the bridge he designed while the first train passes overhead. how many of us would be willing to do that?
if i were 100% sure the contractor did his job correctly, i'd stand under my bridge that's a big if though.
here's another roof collapse that happened here in florida a few weeks ago when we had about 2 days straight of steady rain. re |
