building length limitation for concrete slab
hi:
i remember there is a maximum length for concrete slab without pour strips or expansion joints.  can anyone tell me what is the length and which code section?
if i remember right, this length limitation is different for pour strips and expansion joints.  the requirements are also different from conventional rc slab to post-tensioned slab.
thank you for your help.

is this a slab on grade or structural floor slab above grade?
this is an elevated slab.
does it make any difference if they are a residential building, office, or parking garage?
i don't think this is a code issue.  no cookbook approach applies.  most large structural firms have their own technical guidance notes about spacing of the various types of joints in different types of structures, and these documents themselves are many pages long.  so your question is too complex to answer here.  it just depends on so many variables that each building requires its own assessment.
for concrete frame buildings we used to use a max length of 50m for a full movement joint in the frame. then you also have to look at the shrinkage effect on frame moments. if it's a braced frame you have to be more careful about where the braced bays are too.
