canopy attachments
i have a tension cable canopy attaching to a wall which is
brick and 2x4 wood stud back up (10" total thickness)
the canopy manufacturer sent some typical details but they are more for concrete and masonry back up.
any idea on making a good connection of the tension cables.

any ideas on making a good connection of the canopy to the wall.
canopy sticks out 4 ft from wall it is 7'-0" wide
assume 75psf sl and 10psf dl
connect the cable to your roof or floor diaphragm.  the brick wall or the furring wont be able to take the lateral load.  if you have to do it on the wall between diaphragm then you will need steel column i assume.
go through the brick instead of attaching to it.  you should be able to get enough structure in the wall behind (may have to spread out the area) and then anchor rod through the brick (oversized holes). fix the cable attachment out at the surface of the brick but independent of the brick.
is the 75 psf for snow drift?  seems high unless in the snow belt...uplift is usually the tough one.
zcp
cable does nothing for uplift.  maybe the 75 psf sl is ballast to resist the uplift?
