canvas roof pole barn
client desires a temporary (to be removed in 7 years)
100' x 100' riding arena with canvas fabric roof.
cbc-2007 ground snow load is 20psf.
useage is horse-agricultural with bleachers.
pemanent construction is usually steel frame or 10'oc
poles supporting beams & trusses with light metal roof.
does anyone have experience/thoughts with cost effective
-cable supported
-retractable canvas
-neglecting snow load
-sleeved piers supporting removeable columns
-pile-driven preservative treated posts

we have low human occupancy farm buildings. this doesn't sound like one.
most of the companies manufacturing these structures provide there own engineering. we have only been required to do the foundations and supports below the frame. you just need to spec the right loading.
100' clear span, wheeew.
here is a link to one company that can provide a steel framed building with a fabric cover. like connect2 suggests, they typically provide their own engineering for the building and you would be left to design the foundation, etc. below the frame. |
