concrete moment frame retrofit
this is about an existing three story concrete moment frame building. the beams and columns are not adequate to handle the seismic forces. i need design references and any guidance on jacketing of columns with 1. concrete, 2. fiber. also, how do i retrofit beams. appreciate in advance any help that you can give me.
check out our whitepaper library.
by jacketing (standard term in retrofitting of concrete columns), i mean adding concrete all around the existing circular concrete columns inorder to increase strength and stiffness. obviously, rebars will be added in the jacket. hope i explained your question. thanks.
make a google search like
circular or rectangular columns? there has been discussion of epoxying cfrp strips to the faces of masonry for additional reinforcing. maybe you can apply that to concrete. |
