contracting
can anybody give me an idea where i could find a template for an engineering contract for small projects, like single family residences, building additions etc?
i don't want to turn off the clients, but want to cover the basics
thanks
your professional liability insurance provider should have a template they could send you. at least to get you started.
acec.org has some short form conctracts you can use for smaller projects, but you have to pay to download it.
i purchased the e-520 short form of agreement between owner and engineer for proffesional services, created by the engineers joint contract documents committee and published by the national society of professional engineers, the american council of engineering companies, and the
american society of civil engineers. i seldom use it but i ensure elements within that base document, along with suggestions from my insurance company, appear in the final agreement i do sign.
