crane load in a foundation drawing
when tabulating foundation loads, do you put the specified loads for a crane under self weight only or do you include impact factors (not to be confused with load factors) as well?
crane impact should not affect the footing gravity loads. lateral loading would have an affect on the column bases, thus the footings.
in the usa, osha requires that overhead cranes be load tested at "not more than" 125% of rated capacity (or higher if specified by the manufacturer).
i suggest that the tabulated load include this 125% of rated capacity. part of the reason for the careful overload test (hopefully essentially static) is to allow for vertical "impact" loads if a careless operator "yanked" on a heavy lift or did something else to cause a similar impulse loading.
