Why do we need to choose the BF Algorithm when doing a Form Only Profile?
<< Wagner Lee -- 03/19/09 15:49:16>>
After reading some of the reports, I found myself a little confused.
One report says that "No fit" means the form only profile will check the profile using the current alignment. Why is the alignment important when form only means we are checking the measured curve to the nominal curve regardless of the location of the points?

Formonly means independent of location which implies calculating the minimum form deviation of the measure points. This is done in all versions of PC-DMIS, including FCF profiles, by allowing the user to choose the fitting algorithm to be used to find the minimum deviation. The user can also do a separate bestfit alignment before the profile dimension in which case the user would select NO FIT on the profile dimension.

I believe that this only applies to older versions. The fitting is done automatically now correct Don?
