expansion joints for bldgs using wood sheathing
all,
can anyone tell me their experienced for locating expansion joints for buildings according to expansion joints in buildings: technical report no. 65. i have a one story load bearing masonry building (70'x375') with cfs trusses 2' o/c, sheathed with plywood and covered by asphalt shingles. the building is located in the mid-west with the seismic design category = b and wind speed is 90 mph. the masonry has cj spacing is at 20' - 30' o/c and the 4x8 roof plywood is installed with a 1/8" gap around all sides w/ clips. i'm thinking that an expansion joint is unnecessary for my situation because the materials are not continuous like a metal deck. any thoughts?
