explaination of seismic force resisting systems
can anyone tell me where to find an explaination of the types of lateral force resisting systems that are listed in ibc 2000 table 1617.6.2. i'm really talking about what they mean by "detailed"," ordinary", "special" and "intermediate". examples of what i am talking about are systems such as a "intermediate reinforced masonry shear wall" or a ordinary reinforced concrete shear wall". thanks for your insight.
take a look at the sub-text numbers assigned to each category. the difference in detailed, ordinary, special and intermediate is in how you detail the connections and if inspections are required. each description will take you to the section of the code which will describe to you the requirements. |
