floor vibration analysis for a platform mounted by equipment
hi,
i want to check floor vibration criteria for a platform (industrial structural steel platform) carrying an equipment producing vibration.
is there any one knows how to make a floor vibration analysis for a platform mounted by equipment?. the equipment manual provides all important information like the frequency, mass, and type of supports.
i tried to search for any related analysis methods, but, always find floor vibration analysis due to human activities not due to equipments vibration.
i will appreciate it if any body mentions any related site or books or even hand equations.
thanks for your help in advance.
before you run a detailed vibration analysis, you may want to first get the 1st and 2nd (and maybe 3rd) natural frequencies of the structure in each principal direction, and compare those with the forcing frequency of the equipment.
you can do this with risa, sap, staad...
if the forcing frequencies are more than 4x different than you structure, you're off to a good start.
check to see if the equipment can be installed on vibration isolators.
thanks (atse) and (271828) for your help, i appreciate it.
i am searching for the basic equations that control the relation between the equipment frequency and the structure frequency.
do you know any reference discuss that issue (book, website, paper, ...)
note: i am not sure if there will be isolators or not.
thanks again for your help
there is no shortage of structural dynamics textbooks.
chopra (with emphasis on seismic, but still a good general text and most understandable) and clough & penzien are ones i would start with.
go to your local university library or bookstore or get one of these used texts at amazon.
good luck |
