ground reservoirs
hello,
can somebody help me in finding a link on "design and construction of ground reservoirs (concrete)"? e-books, research papers, guidelines etc. are also useful.
regards,
clefcon
check website of the us corps of engineers (uscoe).
is that the title you're looking for? i'm not familiar with it. however, pca has some good books on concrete tanks: "rectangular concrete tanks" and "circular concrete tanks without prestressing."
if you want info on circular or rectangular tanks, i agree with rholder98 on the pca publications. they are a very good start point for design & have been used for many years. the data supplied in them has been verified by other methods & can be used with confidence.
it depends on your definition of a reservoir. i have had experence of several earth excavated & concrete lined reservoirs (up to 200 m sq & 15 m deep). the design of these reservoirs is completely different to a circular or rectangular tank.
what is your volume, depth, side slope, nature of liquid to be contained, soil type, material preferences (steel or concrete), etc?
also, what country? your design may have to be verified & designing to a usa code (eg - aci 350 or 318, not the pca publication) may not be acceptable for verification in another country. |
