how to use pile cap table crsi
can someone please help me.. newbie..
crsi pile cap table both for on soil and on pile..
can i use it if i have actual moments as long as the soil bearing and/or pile capacity are not exceeded?
or it is only good for vertical loads which will never happen it actual because of course you have horizontal that will cause moment.. thanks,
hello?
if you cannot take out the lateral loads via other means, via batter pile or lateral soil bearing on the pilecaps or grade beams, then you should not use the tables.
as far as i know, they are just meant for vertical loads.

crsi tables are a good start even for conditions where you have moment. for moment on a pile cap, the loads will not be distributed equally to the piles, but the axial reaction from the piles can't be allowed to exceed the allowable pile load. since the crsi tables are based on this allowable load for the piles into the pile cap, the table will actually provide a conservative design.
of course uplift is not taken into acount nor is the added moment reaction from piles taking lateral loads. |
