hss punching shear check
i've misplaced my hss connections guide and need to wrap up a design asap. i was wondering if anyone would care to post the relative equations and limit states for a single plate in tension along the face of a rectangular hss? i guess i've now got a good reason to order the 13th edition.
is the plate parallel to the hss axis or perp to it?
yeah, get the 13th ed. manual. it's 4.00 lb of coolness.
hey, you can download the 2005 spec. at:
the plate is perpendicular to the axis.
this info is also available in the third edition lrfd 'blue book' in the back.
excellent, galambos, but now you've taken away his motivation to move on to bigger and better things, lol!
don't worry, the motivation is still there. thanks for the information. it was helpful. |
