irregular diaphragms
need to know about how to design irregular diaphragms like l or u shape, aslo 3 sides supported diaphragms for analyzing for seismic/wind loadings.
appreciated if someone guide for this.
ali,
there have been a few posts on these. use the google search at the top of the page.
csd,
i need answer from you guys about it, that is why i am here or give some useful link if you know.
chapter 16, section 16.8 lateral analysis of nonrectangular buildings in the book titled "design of wood structures asd/lrfd" 6th edition by donald e. breyer, et al contains some examples of a process for dealing with your subject.
i suggest you become familiar with the term and the various uses of a "drag link"...

ali07,
if you use the google at the top of the post, it will search eng-tips for previous posts on this subject.
people are understandably reluctant to go over topics that have been done many times before.
thanks,
i was not familiar with that before. i thought it just search google only.
by the way i was talking regarding steel diaphragms.
you might google the "steel deck institute" and see what you can find.
