least horizontal dimension
have seen engineers use different techniques for determining the least horizontal dimension, wind load parameter. it's obvious for nice rectangular buildings but how about l-shaped, t-shaped or buildings with multiple wings.
the consensus seems to be either to use the true least plan dimension of the smallest wing or the smaller dimension of an assumed rectangle that encompasses the buildings largest dimensions.
what's the correct approach. thanks.
hi ctseng,
i came across this post and was wondering if you ever got an answer either here or from another source?
what is the correct least dimension for an l-shaped building?
i just joined tips but i did not see any replies to your post |
