sewer clearance
ok, this is an oddball. we are redesigning the drainage system for a golf course. we want to build a stream on one of the holes to go into a detention basin. the only place we can fit the stream is right on top of a sewer easement. it is a gravity fed 36" precast concrete sewer pipe. it is 12' below the grade of the proposed stream. can we build the stream above it or do we have to stay out of the easement?
check out our whitepaper library.
your local codes should be able to advise.
i worry about the stream "leaking" into the sanitary - which is generally a no-no - though neither should leak - they just do.
maybe they would buy off on lined or concrete culvert??
a retro-fitted glass/plastic liner in the existing sewer will assure no infiltration or leaking in the stretch you want to grade into a stream.  can be sold to reviewing agencies for smoother flow characteristics and longer life since proof against hydrogen sulfide attack.
read the easement ! what does it say you may or may not do?
