t&s reinforcing
folks,
does aci give any recommendations regarding placement of temperature and shrinkage reinforcement?
for example, if i have a deep pile cap or thick footing.....where do you place your t&s steel? i have often seen them being placed as a bottom mat. i recall reading somewhere or being referenced by someone that t&s steel should be placed closest to the tensile face, wherever that might be.
any help?
check out our whitepaper library.
t&s steel shall be placed at wherever shrinkage crack is a concern, or not desirable. the bottom mat in pile cap & footings are mainly for strength, though it would help to minimize the shrinkage cracks.
