undeformed bars
a 1920 slab with undeformed bars, can i get help on what reduction should i put into consideration for having undeformed bars instead of deformed bars !
check out our whitepaper library.
crsi has a article "evaluation of reinforcing bars in old reinforced concrete structures". check crsi.org
structual grade fy = 33,000 psi (unless otherwise specified)
14,000 allowable
assume 50% as effective in bond and anchorage as current bars.
another helpful quote.
"since most strength design reviews for flexure will be based on yield strength, fy = 33,000 psi instead of today's 60,000 psi, the tension development lengths for the old bars can be determined by adding 10% to any current table of tension development lengths, ld for modern reinforcing bars."
thanks ironmon.....
that is what i was looking for |
