unusual joists
the roof framing for an existing building in akron, ohio, has 10" bar joists in which the bottom chord is (2) round bars and the top chord is a bent plate approximately in the shape of a double angle (the middle is u-shaped). we thought these might be macomber joists, but did not find anything like it in our macomber catalogs. any ideas who the manufacturer might be?
your best bet is to get a joist tag off the existing joist. this should give you the size and manufacturer plus some other info. |
