vintage seelye design manual
is anyone familuar with the seelye reference book?
i see one one ebay; is it a worthwhile reference for assessing old structures?
some on this thread (
i have volume 1. i think it is one great structural engineering book. it contains many older data, tables and touches almost on every aspect of structural engineering. i enjoy flipping its pages. most of the text is hand written with many tables and charts.
my wife bought mine in a garage sale for $0.25!!

i also have a copy of it and i treat it like a masterpiece because you will never find that kind of excellence in a reference these days. the allowable stresses do not meet today's codes but the statics and analysis is timeless.
if you can find it, grab at.
i picked one up. |
