welding habitat loading
i am analyzing an existing small steel structure used as a work area for pipe welding. the sides of this "habitat" are plastic curtains and the top is plywood. the entire structure is located inside of a building and will never see wind loads. it is even supported by wheels so that it can be moved from one area to another within the building. it is only used to work beneath so that ventilation can be controlled.
question - what code governs this type of structure?
i don't think the ibc will work because this is not a true building. someone suggested this would be governed by osha by i haven't found anything yet and am beginning to wonder if there is anything. thanks.
check out our whitepaper library.
i think this is under osha - scaffolding, elevated work platforms, for general aspects & requirements. for strength, use aisc, aws,... |
