what is a burke-loop?
i'm currently retrofitting a building from 1983 and it has called out on the roof framing details a " 3/4" diameter burke-loop (404-no-035)". basically it's used horizontally in the anchor bolt slot of an hd-2 to connect a roof purlin to a concrete tilt-up wall. does anybody have knowledge of these things because i've never heard of them before. basic load info is what i need since we're trying to verify if the existing ties can take the current required anchorage forces.
burke used to be a manufacturer of concrete inserts. i don't know if they are still in business or if this is one of their products.
