wideslab (half slab ) design
i have just discovered this site and am appreciative of the topics discussed here.... i am currently working as both structural and r&d engineer in our company and am looking into the design analysis or procedure of a wideslab ( half slab in our local term) with welded wire mesh girders. wideslabs are precast concrete slabs poured half (or less ) of its designed thickness and then lifted on the structural frame then poured with the remaining thickness. the slab will serve as formwork and integral part of the structure. i am particularly interested on the design and analysis of this system especially the one using welded wire girders. there are companies offering this system as a whole but i would like to have a first hand knowledge on this. in our location, this is still a relatively new item. kindly give me some tips or point me to a site where i can read further on this matter. thanks!
