more help - sw add-in menu
ok... bare with me as i am new to this type of programming within the api.
first off, thanks markku for the 'swaddin template 1.3 setup.exe'. however, what do i do with this file as far as templates are concerned?
started off in vb 6 and recently started with visual studion 2008
- is this type of template compatible? do i need to go back to v6 or visual 2005?
my bottom line is i'd like to get my addin menu in sw 2008 to call my macro\programs from within sw. can anyone provide me with a barebones example of where to start?
also, i've read about the 'addin wizard' and installed the solidworks 2008 api sdk.msi as wlell. but where does this go? i'm thinking that visual studio 2008 is the problem here being reletively new.
once again, thanks for any more help.

don,
it works on vs6...on visual basic tab select addin and go. in vs2005 you have to use .net version.

thanks basil,
but i did try installing the solidworks api sdk but all it say is that it's going to program files. where do these templates go? do i have to have vs2005 installed and not use vs2008?
thanks,
don
