pdm problem
hi
i had a problem converting toolbox to regular components and that problem was solved in this forum. now an additional problem has com up. some of the components had been saved into pdm as toolbox-non-revision controled parts. i have deleted the components from toolbox reference as well as the assemblies. i have broken the components using
"c:\program files\solidworks\solidworks\toolbox\data utilities\sldsetdocprop.exe"
the components do not come up in any assembly or individually using sw explorer.
i bring the assembly (minus fasteners) into my c drive and add the new fasteners. i can not check the new fasteners into pdm (not into the location i have access to and the admin can't either) i get a vault error 102. i can not check the assemblies in either. in the pdm tree that shows items that are in the assy and those that are to be checked in- the fasteners are grayed and the toolbox non-revision controled parts are there- even tho they have been deleted from every location on my drive and in the vault.
any one have an idea about what is going on and how i can correct this?
thanks
i have two guesses for you.
first guess. the fastener files are in a directory that pdmworks has marked as being a "standard library" directory. you can look at the list of these directories using the vaultadmin tool, and bringing up the "standard libraries" tab.
second guess. the fastener files are still in pdmworks. one way to check on this would be to see if you can check in one of the fasteners after renaming it to something different.

i think i may have found the problem. there are two revs of this part. the first rev has the toolbox parts and the second rev has the parts deleted from the assembly but still appears in doc info in the vault as shadowed parts. that means there is still some sort of link between the fasteners and toolbox. it looks like i may have to delete both revs of my assembly fully from the vault and then reload the clean copy to break this hidden link. this is a new assembly so i won't have a problem of existing upper assemblies and this is our first fully 3d top assy so the problem will not appear in future assemblies. those will have the clean component fasteners rather than the toolbox fasteners.
thanks for your help.
