rev letters
does anyone know where i may get a standard on what letters are not used on a revision block due to mix-up with a number?
asme y14.35 &/or asme y14.100.
i have neither to hand right now but basically don't use the ones that can look like numbers. i think this has been discussed before if not here then on
i actually made a "complete" list of asme acceptable revisions an excel file awhile back:
what if i needed to go to "aaa"?

ewh,
i know you are kidding, but yeah, i thought about that seriously. i read the standard carefully. technically, triple letters are not prohibited, but they are also not mentioned by the standard. so i figured yy was a less than arbitrary point to stop the list.

quote (5.1 revision letters):
... omitting letters "i," "o," "q," "s," "x," and "z".
kenat,
and that's immediately followed by the instructions to use double letters once you run out of single letter revs.
