transition for interference fit???
i have to design a pin such that it fits very tightly inside the roller bearing.
the pin is at the two ends of a pipe , which is being used as a roller.
the i.d. of roller bearing = 7.952"
i randomly used h7p6 and calculated the interference to be between .000 - .003".
should i go for a transition fit for this condition or stick to interference fit???
try posting this on the bearing forum.
what are the specs on the bearing? ball tolerance, internal clearances (abec-?) and such? what are design requirements of the bearing? loads, speed and shaft configuration? my gut tells me that is way too much interference....find someone that has a torrington bearing book they will step you through this process. i have a current design i working on that is a rotordynamic nightmare....90,000 rpm.
