transition to different asme y14.5m?
i received a draft copy of the asme y14.5m-200x and it looks interesting. for anyone who has transitioned from 1982 to 1994 versions: how long after 94 version came out did you transition (partial and/or full)? were there any industry or company guidelines for this transition?

vigildesign,
i was aware of ansi y14.5m-1982, but i did not properly get into it until i was trained on the 1994 version of the standard.
what are they changing?

when 94 came out, we immediately transitioned. all new dwgs were 94. only major changes to dwg, or redraw, that had 82 were changed to 94. i expect the 200x not to be accepted for a while because standards seem to have taken a back seat in the past several years.

my experience is similar to chris'. immediate change over. granted, we didn't get it 100% correct, but it seems that many are in that situation ;)
i'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
it depends on how much they change.
