When scanning getting Find Nominal Tolerance error
<< Rick Haduch  --  05/05/09  08:10:40>>
See attached program. When linear scanning on the flat surfaces around the teeth, getting the Find Nomial Tol error. When scanning the teeth, no error. Has increased tolerance, but still gets the error. We initally considered the Best Fit option in scanning to be the issue, when offline without  Best Fit the program executed successfully, with Best Fit on in scan options, error when execting offline. But when customer attempted this, getting Tol error both with and without the Best Fit option enabled. Debug files attached.

This should be fixed.  The problem is that we were best fitting the scan data with a plane and this data is colinear.  This results in a plan vector that is not well defined.  We changed this so that the plane vector is simply the cut plane vector.  The uploaded files are:
V432\SCAN\DCCSCAN.CPP
V44B\SCAN\DCCSCAN.CPP

Ryan and I have a potential fix for this, we have to do some testing.

The good thing is that the crash is fixed now.  However, I'm still getting a find nominals error.  This is coming from the scanning code.  I'm going to try to work together with Ryan Gundry to see if we can find the problem.  Basically it appears we are looking for the nominals from the wrong location.

Incrementing the version here to keep it on the Stop Release queries.

Andy,
I was told to forward this to you.

Please do the following steps to repair the crash.
1) edit alignment A1 and A2 (such as, 2D-3D-2D)
2) save the PP
3) re-open the PP
<<END>>
<< Ryan Gundry (Documentation Notes)  --  05/13/09  15:48:46>>
The crash is caused by a call in CPCDbf3d_align::UpdateWeights to GetWeights() with m_nNumBFItems = 567.

Rick,
I need a probe file called 8BY100_TPROBE.PRB and an alignment CHUCKCENTER.ALN in order to continue debugging.
