electric linear actuator vendor needed
i'm currently working on a lifting mechanism design that is going to require a linear actuator driven by 28vdc and am having trouble identifying vendors that can help. the mechanism geometry is still flexible at this point so my requirements are only loosely defined but i'd like something in the range of 19.7" stroke, 840lbs of actuator force that can withstand a 3300lb ultimate compressive load. this is of course an aerospace application and i only need 3 units total which is the source of my problems. does anyone know of a vendor or two that i could try?
thanks in advance,
adam
is it for ground support or for airborne use?
you could design it yourself using a standard ball or roller screw, electric motor and a custom designed or standard gear box. all with respect to weight and space limitations.
burr corp. (
it's for airborne use unfortunately. i suggested to my manager the possibility of designing an actuator ourselves but it sounds like it woudl be a pretty involved task to get it certified for flight. we may still have to go that route but would prefer not to.
acampion (aerospace)
have you checked with parker hannifin?
they took over pneumo corp of kalamazoo mi., who used to make milspec linear actuators for missile use.
i believe they now call them "electro cylinders".
