inconel turning
i am using coated cngp432 inserts (coated-kc5010, kc730, etc from kenametal) for machining jet engine casings which are thin-walled.
* docs are never more than .050"
* the surface is nearly always pre-turned.
* work pieces are large and fabricated from inconel sheets. * wall thickness is around 0.125-0.250".
* dimentional accuracies are normally within +/-.001".
my priority is reducing the purchase cost while retaining the toollife.
shouldn't i be using ground, uncoated, positive geometry inserts with grades like k313(kennametal), ic07 & ic20(iscar)? |
