titanium cp3 fatigue
does anyone have any fatigue data for titanium cp3. this material has been used in error, where cp1 was specified, so we need to determine life limitations.

there is some fatigue data on cp3 and cp4 ti in the asm publication atlas of fatigue curves. the nominal fatigue strength increases as you move from cp1 to cp4, due to the increase in tensile strength (higher oxygen content). fracture toughness will be lower, though. annealed cp3 tested under rotating bending showed a room temperature fatigue strength of ~ 40 ksi (~ 275 mpa) at 107 cycles. cold rolling increased this to about 44 ksi (305 mpa). |
