aluminum treadplate
hello,
i need to know the moment of inertia perpendicular the the face of an aluminum plate that is 1/8" thick and 48" wide.
i can't find any info anywhere.
thanks
for a rectangular section, the moment of inertia is (1/12)*b*h^3, where b is the plate dimension parallel to, and h is the dimension perpendicular to, the axis about which the moment of inertia is being calculated.
i am not clear from your message as to about which axis you are calculculating the moment of inertia.
i hope this helps.
b*d^3 / 12
