augured caisson installation
does anyone know of a detailed procedure regarding caisson installation?
check out our whitepaper library.
what kind of caisson - for a building foundation?
yes....structural, 6 to 8 1/2 feet in diameter
do a search on eng-tips for deep foundations institute, adsc, fhwa - someone started a thread within the last week to 10 days asking the same question.
if you are talking about drilled caissons, they are simple. the drill/auger drills the hole and extracts the soil. walls can be lines with expansive clay to maintain the inside walls integrity. the steel cage is dropped in. i recommend using the bar spacers (plastic wheels that fit on the bars to provide the required cover. the concrete is placed.
