ca seismic source data
i'm working on a project in socal, ontario to be exact. can anyone here help me find the seismic source data for the specific site? ie, the distance to type a or type b faults.
i haven't been able to get my hands on a map and there isn't a geotech on board yet. the client is looking for some preliminary info for budgets and i'm trying to help them out.
i'll have to take a guess at the soil profile, but i'd rather be guessing at one item rather than two...or three.
here is a map of the site.
without having a geotechnical engineer on board, you can still assume within 2km of a type b fault and a type sd soil for your preliminary design. of course when the information becomes available, you still need to verify your initial assumptions.
for $55, you can purchase the seismic maps from the icc store:
without my book next to me i want to say that you are just more than 10km from an a fault and more than 5km from a b fault giving you an na of 1.0 - but buying the seismic maps would be a better idea than guessing. the cost of the maps is minimal so it won't really hurt if you don't get the project. |
