cost of concrete and reinforcement
for an acedemic exercise i would like to get an idea of the relative cost of concrete and reinforcing steel in different countries.  could you give me an approximate cost for:
concrete delivered and placed. $/m3
28 day cylinder strengths 32,40,50 and 60 mpa or closest equivalent.
steel reinforcing bar cut, bent, delivered and fixed. $/tonne
yield strength 500 mpa or closest equivalent.
16mm or less diameter
20mm or greter diameter.
if you don't know the exchange rate the local currency will be fine.  just let me know the country and the currency.
i'm just looking for ball-park figures, and the relative cost of concrete to steel is the important thing.
thanks in advance.

i will hazard a guess for loacal eastern canadian industry average figures(all fig's canadian...1$us ~ $1.55 can):
20 - 40 mpa concrete (type 10, low alkali s.f. blend)
horizontal concrete, slabs, bridge decks, etc. $500/m3
vertical concrete, walls, piers, etc. $400/m3
large pours, footings, etc. $350/m3
includes forming, rebar placement, casting, finishing, curing, stripping.
grade 400 deformed bar (400mpa)
all sizes: $2.25/kg (cut, bent, delivered, etc.)
assumes that transportion is within say 50 km of fabrication/batching location(s) and would likely increase concrete costs by ~10% for 40 & 50 mpa strengths.  i would stick with the figures above for <30mpa as well.
in the midwestern us we see about $350/cu. yd of placed concrete and about $0.60-0.90/pound for black and epoxy reinforcing respectively.
all figures for "in-place" product so transportation, pumping, mixing, etc is included.
thanks for the replies.
klf - based on your repiles, would $225/m3 be reasonable for concrete only (without forming or reinforcement)?
qshake - concrete sounds expensive, did that include formwork and/or reinforcement?
any numbers for the extra cost of higher strength concrete?  it must cost something.

ids - i would use say, $150 - $200/m3 (again canadian dollars) for my area for batched & delivered concrete. the varience would be for amount to be batched, admixtures, etc.
we have done tenders in the past where the total cement is a bid item ($/kg cement).  contractors would play funny games with this item and i think its more or less dissappeared from use, in this area anyway.
i just went back through some of my older tenders and found these highest & lowest unit values from successful contractor's (low-bidder's) values:
the lowest bid value (footing): $99/m3
the highest bid value (bridge deck): $700/m3
ids, yes that does include forming and placing.  also consider that some jobs will require increases as well.  for example, retaining wall concrete is expensive as it is usually placed in narrow forms and likely is of the height that will require horizontal joints or trunks for concrete placement.  culvert concrete is more expensive as you are again placing in narrown forms and usually in an area inaccessible to concrete trucks and thus it must be pumped. on and on and on.
