deformation of flat plate with uniform thickness
hi
i'm looking for a formula that will yield the maximum stress and deformation of a flat plate under uniform load. i understand from a previous post that pounder's plate theory is the way to go, but i do not have a copy of the text they reference. is it available on the net?
for circular and annular plates you'll find it in the site below (rectangular plates to come...).
prex
thank you. unfortunately i am looking for the rectangular plate formula.
try "roark's formulas for stress & strain" - mcgraw-hill.
two sources that i can think of:
- roark's book chapter 10 table 26
- mark's standard handbook for mechanical engineers 1978 edition page 5-52 & 5-53
if you don't have these resources post you details and i am sure someone will post an answer. rich
i think there is a mathcad 2000 pro sheet downloadable from the collaboratory site. i can send it (plate10b.mcd) to you, of if you can't make it operative, a .doc file to see the formulation at least. post if so an e-mail address.
thanks everyone, i have found a copy of the info and it is exactly what i needed. |
