diaphragm interaction tables (shear and uplift)
bouras industries has some new tables for determining allowable diaphragm shear based upon wind uplift.
i think the tables are new publication. i noticed them in the last month or previous edition of modern steel construction and se magazines inside covers.
i always check for diaphragm and uplift on my deck connectors. i need to study the new tables further since they have limited deck type and fastener types.
if you have any questions about the tables, contact their engineers. i found them to be responsive and helpful in explaining many of their materials.
i still rely on the sdi deck manuals which were based on research at west virginia university by dr. larry d. luttrell, pe. i think they are great references for any structural engineers鈥?library.
regards,
lutfi
if you look at those tables and compare them to the values published, say in vulcraft's catalog, i believe you'll find they have the same numbers if you look under 0 psf uplift. |
