floor grout
i am looking for a grout product to place over a concrete slab to provide drainage in a pit.
the maximum thickness would be 4 1/2" and the minimum would be 0" (ideally) or as thin as can be done with the product. the amount of slope will not be very much but anything here will help.
is there a sonneborn product or something else that can be specified?
check out our whitepaper library.
the following is an excerpt from a spec concerning grout on a basin slab:
a. grout:
1. proportions of grouting mixture:
a. one part portland cement and 4 1/2 parts sand, by weight.
b. water content:
1) sufficient, to allow workability for spreading grout with screeds.
2) not excessive, to prevent formation of surface water and laitance, and to allow grout to stay in place after screeding.
i would keep the minimum thickness around three inches, and put some welded wire fabric in it. if you contact five star products, they will be able to recomment a minimum thickness for one of thier products. |
