loading for elevated jogging/walking track
i've got a project that is an addition to a recreation center.  part of the project is the addition of an elevated track for walking and jogging.  i've got questions about the appropriate live load to use.  my instinct says to use 100psf.  asce 7-98 lists 60psf for walkways (other than exitways, i've used 80psf for 2nd story corridors, and i've designed pedestrian bridges for 85psf (aashto).  has anybody done an elevated track before?  what live load used. this project falls under ibc 2000.
we've used 100 psf for live load.  also, paid a lot of attention to vibration - even though its elevated, don't get too light with the floor...you need mass to dampen out the runners.
concur with jae. i am working with the owner of a gymnasium (under construction) that was designed with both an elevated track and a second floor aerobics room. we will find out in few months if the design engineer paid enough attention to the floor vibration issue. here are some links to general information:
