minimum design and load asce-05
is this code book used by structural engineers for building design in the nyc area? the ibc 2003 refers to this book for snow loads but thats all. the rest like live load, seismic loads etc seems can be calculated using 2003 building code.
the resisant virtues of the structure that we seek depend on their form; it is through their form that they are stable, not because of an awkward accumulation of material. there is nothing more noble and elegant from an intellectual viewpoint than this: to resist through form. eladio dieste
are you talking about asce-7-05 "minimum design loads for buildings and other structures"? this is the most common source for determining various types of loads. most building codes refer to it.
i think nyc is going to the 2006 ibc (mostly) this summer and the 2006 code took a lot of asce 7 items out of the code.
