name for cmu that 1/2 is open to grout fill from side
does anyone know the name of the cmu type that has a section of the block missing on one side to allow forming before pumping with grout? (unable to pump from the top.)
thanks!
can you describe this a little better?
half high on one of the long sides only.
similar to a header block but with the short sides full height.
i'll see about posting a sketch.
thank you.
based on your description, it is a header block. a header block is half way high along one of the long sides and the webs are cut in half as well.
let me know
seems "header block" is a class of it's own, separate from the other styles of block, at least according to this site:
in some areas, these are also known as "shoe" blocks.
here is some additional information (includes the configuration you asked about):
stevebausch,
please explain how you pasted the block pictures in your message - it is really cool! (cool: a word in use during the decade of the 1950's meaning neato, keen, crazy man, out-a-sight, its-the-bomb)
it's pretty simple, i invoke the "img" tag
the tag is put within square brackets, if i used square brackets the tags might not show.
to include an image in your post:
replace the wavy brackets with square brackets.
wow! images are what's been missing all along. i have ignored some postings because without a picture i was not sure what was being asked. you have broken new ground here.
thanks,
dave adkins
well, you know, we engineers cannot explain anything without sketching or drawing... lol... otherwise we would have been reporters and or writers....
i think this picture/image posting is neat as well.... right on! |
